For more than 30 years, Norton & Smith, P.C. has been representing Colorado governments, developers, and businesses in their day-to-day legal issues and their extraordinary opportunities and challenges.
Founded in 1983, the firm’s practice areas have grown from being entirely focused on assisting developers with the establishment of special districts to a practice that now includes:
- Interpreting and litigating complex constitutional, statutory, and commercial issues, and advocating for clients at all levels of the state and federal court systems.
- Representing or counseling existing political subdivisions and agencies of the State of Colorado in specialized areas, including infrastructure for transportation, corrections, and environmental and health protection.
- Counseling businesses and individuals on acquisition of real estate and businesses, on matters of corporate law and on estate planning and taxation.
- Assisting developers and neighborhoods to accomplish residential and commercial infrastructure (streets, water sewer, and so forth), with financing at tax exempt rates.
- Creating regional authorities to accomplish major infrastructure projects, such as a majority of the Denver metropolitan area's beltway.
